Certified Kintsugi Specialist Course
by KINTSUGI JAPAN (EU Branch)
The Certified Kintsugi Specialist Course is a professional program jointly organized by Kintsugi Japan (EU Branch – registered with EUIPO).
We are proud to offer the only Kintsugi Japan–certified course in Europe.
The course is led by LiLi, a certified Kintsugi-shi accredited by Kintsugi Japan Headquarters, who graduated from the Japan head office and has extensive experience in natural Kintsugi techniques and traditional restoration practices.
Course Structure
The program follows a two-year progressive structure:
After completing the first year and passing the required assessments, students may freely choose whether to continue into the second-year course.
At present, both first-year and second-year students are enrolled simultaneously.
Course Content
The course consists of two main components:
-
Theoretical study
-
Practical application and restoration practice
After completing the first year, students may take the theory examination and submit their work for evaluation. Upon passing, students will receive the Kintsugi Specialist Certification.
Only students who successfully pass both the theory and practical assessments of the first year are eligible to proceed to the second-year advanced course.
Students may also choose to conclude their studies after completing the first year.

Practical Experience and Outcomes
As the course progresses, some current students have begun receiving small-scale Kintsugi restoration commissions from real clients.
These projects are primarily practice-based and educational in nature, carried out under instructional guidance, and may include modest symbolic compensation.
This stage is not intended as commercial training, but rather as a natural extension of developing technical proficiency and professional practice, supporting students toward future independent work.
