Karigane (literally "the cry of the wild goose") is the leaf stalks of shaded gyokuro material. Soft and full-bodied tea with a touch of dry hay. Due to the low leaf content, the tea contains relatively little caffeine and bitterness.

Furuichi Seicha (古市制茶) is the maker of this beautiful tea. It's a small, family-own business located in Chiran Village in Kagoshima. Founder Noboru Furuichi began the business by selling tea from his bicycle just after the end of World War II in 1948.
