Designed for 1–3 participants, this private experience offers an intimate introduction to the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi.

We will use natural materials derived from nature, particularly Urushi (漆), a natural tree sap that has been used by humans for approximately 9,000 years. You will be introduced to the traditional techniques of Kintsugi and the cultural ideas behind this craft, while experiencing firsthand how a damaged object can be given a new life.

During the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to explore traditional tools, objects awaiting repair, traditional lacquerware, and decorated pieces. By seeing and handling these objects, you will gain a deeper understanding of this craft from different perspectives. The experience also includes a Japanese tea tasting, allowing you to take your time and appreciate traditional craftsmanship and tea culture in a relaxed and intimate setting.

During this 2–2.5-hour experience, you will learn about the basic principles and repair process of Kintsugi and have the opportunity to try this traditional craft yourself under the professional guidance of the owner of KINTSUGI JAPAN EU BRANCH.

The tea tasting also offers an opportunity to slow down and share a peaceful moment with the other participants, bringing together tea and craftsmanship in a relaxed atmosphere.
